Thanks for this Joseph you saved me so much time. I pulled two HP Proliant DL G5 servers out of the storage room, installed eight gigs of memory and filled the drive bays with a mix of 72 and gigabyte drives. Please see the following document and link: I don't have a floppy or USB flash. Not an IT pro? After making this change, I was able to install Windows Server to this machine.

Windows Server installed just fine and I was able to use that as the base operating system for installing all the firmware updates the server needed. All I hear is a bunch of whining about something that you would fix for those who werent too busy on the lookout for attention.

I mean, I know it was my choice to learn, but I actually thought youd have one thing interesting to say. It has been nearly 10 years since I smartstar really needed a particular driver for a CD drive.

I set this to Legacy mode.

This isnt good and maybe doesnt apply to me. I'll probably post a lot about work, family, news, politics, and odd things that I see or happen. Oso am using Windows 7 x64 as the guest. In the meantime connect the flash drive which has the hpahcisr folder to the server.

A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing.

I even tried booting to external USB 2. I didn't have one handy, so I downloaded the latest version, 8. The installation will prompt for a DVD Driver.

Windows instlation cannot proceed.
