I agree that it is a well organized presentation of important topics, that it does a good job presenting the priorities and the main issues of the discipline, but the sharpness of the learning curve students experience with this book comes largely from the incoherence and foreign writing style than the rigor. Mittlehammer chooses to break the traditional style of writing integrals, repeated decimals, ranges, derivatives, and everything else.
Smith No preview available - Unfortunately, the copy I got has very bad printing I swear that it looks as if they scanned the original book and after a day it has disconnected from the hard cover. Great reference book for statistics.
The proofs were pretty clear and careful, which I like.
